The problem
Payments lived in Stripe, invoices lived in a fifteen-year-old ERP, and a person moved data between them by hand every Friday. Mistakes were found weeks later by accountants.
What I built
Built an idempotent webhook consumer with a durable queue so no event is lost during ERP downtime, plus a nightly reconciliation job that diffs both systems and reports any discrepancy. Backfilled three years of historical records to establish a clean baseline.
The outcome
The Friday job disappeared. Discrepancies now surface as an alert the next morning instead of a surprise at quarter end.
